Welcome to my Studio Page
Here you will read about my techniques. I’ve taken many workshops with professional artists and have always learned something new. I encourage everyone to take lessons and to read relevant books as well. I find visits to art galleries can be very inspiring. All of this will help you find a style that you will enjoy the most. I continue to experiment every year with different color combinations, papers and mediums. I enjoy challenging myself to try and find new ways to create art.
Suminagashi Technique
The Suminagashi technique I incorporate into my work is based on the Japanese technique of paper marbling. The use of Chinese ink and colors on a water surface along with the use of a feather, comb or a stick can produce intricate background patterns on the paper. This technique has been practiced since the 12th century.
